Caffeine Free Benefits

In modern society, the popularity of caffeine is unquestionable and we are seeing more and more coffee shops, energy drinks and caffeine supplements seamlessly popping up all over the Western world.

But is a life without caffeine a viable option within these lifestyles we lead?

It absolutely is.

Having a $5 coffee is now actually recognisable as fashionable and ‘good for you’ to start the day.

If, like me, impressing others and fitting in is not your priority in comparison to actually being healthy then quitting caffeine may be the way forward.

Did people not survive and perform before all of these different stimulants were introduced and became mainstream?

Why do we NEED a coffee or hit or caffeine to start the day off? Is there an alternative?

If you suffer from any form of anxiety caffeine can be an absolute avalanche towards symptoms of anxiety.

You can make your own mind up.

Caffeine can be a very useful tool in the armoury when you might be fatigued and needing an extra boost, to get through what particular challenge you are facing.

Whether it is a night without sleep followed by an early morning, a boost to benefit your workout or you have got a stack of work to get stuck into; caffeine can assist in making all of these situations better.

But over time, you will build a reliance upon it or better known as ‘addiction’ alongside an immunity which will leave you needing even more.

How To Quit Caffeine

Quitting caffeine completely can be extremely tough, dependant on how much you consume and how reliant upon it you have become and you may be better weaning yourself off rather than going all in cold turkey.

Going cold turkey will likely bring side effects such as irritability, anxiety, headaches and insomnia but if you are willing to suffer for a greater peace of mind and bodily function it can be worth the pain.

Once you get through the first week or two, things will start to become easier and the craving you once had will disappear.

The alternative method would be lowering your increase, whatever that might be, to lower than what it already is.

Drink 4 coffees a day? Try 3 for a week. Then 2 etc.

Reliance on an energy drink every morning? Drink a pint of water as soon as you wake up and see what difference that makes to your energy level.

You do not NEED caffeine to survive nor to be productive. You can escape the ‘norm’.

This is not necessarily saying that it is easy by any means, but it is absolutely possible and the harder crash the harder your addiction you will be overcoming.

Take pride from the pain you are trying to better yourself.

Free yourself from addiction to any substance. Anything you can not say NO to, ultimately controls you.
