How To Start Your Morning Right – 5 Top Tips

Do you wake up, look at your phone and scroll mindlessly for 30 minutes every morning and then get that overwhelming feeling of anxiety about the day?

Stop This Shit Right Now.

You need to stop now.

Start prioritising yourself.

You first. All that other social media bullshit later. Let’s get this day started properly.

1. Put The Phone Down

When you wake up, only look at your phone to turn off the alarm.

Unless your blessed with a lie in, check the time and decide to go back to sleep or get up.

Picking up your phone and reading through social media will only start your day off wrong.

You see everyone living their filtered lifestyle of best bits and images.

You feel insecure about how interesting your own life is.

You start the day off feeling anxious, miserable and that whatever you do can’t ever match up to that.

Stop fooling yourself. You have plenty to be happy and grateful for and if you don’t then you need to get to work anyway. No time for scrolling.

2. Rehydrate/Supplements

The first thing I do every morning, is walk downstairs and pour myself a pint of cold diluted juice.

Hydration is a key element towards any level of sustained success.

GOOD FUCKING MORNING

I scoop in my Creatine, give it a stir and get my supplements (Multivitamins and Cod Liver Oil) out the cupboard.

I take the supplements with a few sips then literally down the drink.

I’m instantly energised, hydrated and ready for the day.

3. Take A Shower

Sounds stupid to write this BUT during lockdown it’s so easy to think washing isn’t really important if you aren’t going anywhere.

It’s not so much the washing, as the revitalised and reinvigorated feeling of standing under the water and letting it wake you up.

You are preparing for the day.

You feel clean = you feel good.

This leads to good actions. This leads to better results. This leads to more fulfilment.

4. Take A Few Minutes To Be Greatful

You can do this in the shower or take a minute to look in the mirror after you get out.

What are you grateful for?

It can be something you’ve done well. It can be something you own. It can be your health. It can be people in your life.

It can be what the f you want it to be, but without it you would be disappointed or less happy.

Be as selfish as you want. If you are greaftul then for being a good looking bastard then be greatful for it.

If you are greatful for being financially better off than this time 5 years ago then that’s fine.

You might just be greatful for having another day, another opportunity to experience life if you are into another level of higher thinking.

5. Run Through Your Daily Plan And Get Productive

So what are you planning to do today?

Planning to complete tasks?

Planning to try and engage with your spouse more?

Planning to spend more mindful time with your kids?

Whatever it is, today this is what you will do.

You might not need to make a million pounds online today, maybe you just need to focus on resting and recovering.

But be purposeful with it.

Purposefully relax. Purposefully start a business. Purposefully complete a home workout. Purposefully be mindful watching sports. Be in that moment man.

Then at the end of the day, you can rest knowing that you have accomplished whatever it is you set out to do that day.

A morning routine won’t bring you complete happiness.

It builds a foundation for you to live your life purposefully.
